Scope/Summary

This project consists of land acquisition and construction of a new 72,000 SF general purpose classroom building. The facility will also house the Chancellor's Corporate Education Center; four floors of academic classrooms and laboratories for Mathematics, Social and Behavioral Sciences, Nursing Education; and offices for the District's military education program. The building will also provide space for collaborative common areas, support space for instructional and staff needs, and retail space. The project will include a six story parking structure adjacent to the building, with 400+ stalls. Construction of the building is scheduled to start in 2010.

As of 12/15/08 the design build team has started the programming and conceptual design phase. The design team has and continues to meet with the users to establish appropriate space allocation and adjacencies as well as overall building footprint and orientation on the site. Meetings will continue to take place with the goal of achieving a preliminary concept design for the District's review by mid December.
